Huanchaco
is located directly on the sea and has become a popular destination with a
wide range of restaurants and accommodation. In the times of the Chimus
and Mochicas it was an important port and fishing village. The «caballitos
de totora» made of reeds, which are still used by fishermen in Huanchaco
