Bird watching: Machu Picchu

Bird watching, experiencing nature and the fortress of Machu Picchu with overnight stays in the «Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel» or «El MaPi by Inkaterra».
Day 1: from the Urubamba valley to Machu Picchu
• Reception at the train station in Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) and transfer to the hotel.
• Lunch.
• Bus ride up to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu.
• Guided visit to the Inca fortress of Machu Picchu, with the best opportunities to see the Inca Wren (Pheugopedius eisenmanni).
• Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Machu Picchu
• Breakfast.
• Excursion to the Mandor valley with its lush and fascinating bird life.
• Lunch at the hotel.
• Tour of the grounds of the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel.
• Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Machu Picchu
• Breakfast.
• Early walking tour to take advantage of the best time for bird-watching. First at the river lookout with a chance to spot the much sought-after Peruvian torrent duck and White-capped dipper. Continue to a feeding station for tanagers, where Silver-beaked tanager, Blue-necked tanager, Fawn-breasted tanager and Saffron-crowned tanager can be found. As you walk the trails, keep an eye out for the Cock-of-the-rock, Golden-headed Quetzal, and the 18 different hummingbirds, including Rufous-booted racket-tail and Green-and-white Hummingbird, that are native to the area.
• Lunch.
• Transfer to the train station for the return trip to Cusco.
