Wetland «Lagunas de Mejia»

• At 7:00 h pick up from the hotel.
• Ride to the wetland.
• Observation of the landscape and the variety of bird species in the wetland «Lagunas de Mejia». More than 180 bird species have been counted here, about a third of which are migratory birds that are not always here. You can see, among others: gray gull (Leucophaeus modestus), sanderling (Calidris alba), American scissorbill (Rynchops niger), long-tailed gull (Larus belcheri), kelp gull (Larus dominicanus), gray-headed gull (Chroicocephalus cirrocephalus), rolland grebe (Rollandia rolland), magellanic grebe (Podiceps major), Southern Andean duck (Anas flavirostris), Bahama duck (Anas bahamensis), Cinnamon duck (Spatula cyanoptera), Common moorhen (Gallinula chloropus), American coot (Fulica americana), Virginia arcade (Rallus limicola), Cocoi egret (Ardea cocoi), Great egret (Egretta alba), Snowy Egret (Egretta thula), Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea), Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis).
• Box lunch as lunch.
• Return to Arequipa.
• At 18:00 arrival in Arequipa.
